The region is characterized by its plunging hills, stony ridges, running streams and mystical forests. This area, famous for wine in Biblical times, underwent a wine revival in the late 1990’s. Today it's the fastest growing wine region in Israel. Soils range from gravel and terra rossa to volcanic, and altitudes rise up to 900 meters above sea level.
